Outcomes:
- By EOY 2025, our MLLs scoring in the low risk band will increase from ___% to ____% via VALLS. This data will be updated once we have it.
- By EOY 2025, 75% of students in grades K-3 will be in the low risk (Tier 1) category, according to VALLSS.
Strategies:
- Leverage use of daily, explicit language comprehension lessons from the new core curriculum for building knowledge and vocabulary.
- Increase efficiency of instructional delivery to ensure all students have daily access to all components of the language arts block as outlined in the new core curriculum
Improve integrity of implementation of new core curriculum, English Language Development program, and/or intervention programs by using FCPS-adopted resources with fidelity.
Elementary School Math
Outcomes:
- By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of students with disabilities meeting the criteria for the metric % students (G4-6) of making SOL growth in mathematics (SOL) will increase from 23% to 30% of students.
- By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of students demonstrating within-year growth on the iReady screener in math will increase from 53% to 58%.
- By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of students demonstrating end-of-year benchmark on EMAS will remain or exceed 91%.
Strategies:
- Improve teachers' implementation of Framework for Engaging & Student-Centered Mathematics Instruction.
- Increase teachers' implementation of strategies and conversation structures that increase academic talk between students related to Shift 4: from show and tell to share and compare.
- Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention.
- Access to Rigor: Provide responsive instruction (differentiation and support) within rigorous Tier 1 learning opportunities.
Student Group
Outcomes:
- By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of students with disabilities meeting the criteria for the metric % students (G4-6) making SOL growth in mathematics (SOL) will increase from 23% to 30% of students.
- By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of students with disabilities meeting the criteria for the metric annual pass rate (G3-6) for Mathematics (SOL) will increase from 32% to 37%.
Strategies:
- Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of mathematics intervention.
- Increase formal collaboration between classroom teachers and special education teachers to develop access to general education standards and intervention strategies during whole group and small group instruction.
Science
Outcome:
- By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, 80% of 5th grades at Lane Elementary will pass the science SOL.
Strategies:
- Increase content and/or pedagogy knowledge in science for all teachers (advanced, general, ESOL, special education).
- Increase student access to high quality science instruction through sufficient time on the master schedule and use of up-to-date FCPS curriculum.
