Each day at Lane begins with the Morning News Show. This 5-minute production includes the school song, the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence, and the day's headlines and special announcements.

The show is produced entirely by sixth graders under the guidance of Lane Librarian Sue Chozick. The work in the "studio" located in the Lane Library. All fifth-grade students can apply to join the News Show crew in their sixth-grade year. Teams of students rotate through crew positions during the school year.
